Nash's Bakery that opened the doors of their bakery in 1929
If you’re going to visit Bicester, then we would recommend you pay Nash’s Bakery a visit. Here is the shop situated on Sheep Street.
They sell the most delicious baked cakes and cream scones.
They also sell delicious savoury items like Cornish pasties and samosas.
The locals will tell you that Nash’s Bakery bread is delicious, and if you’re in town you should buy a loaf for yourself to take home and try.
Nash’s Bakery are fast approaching their centenary year. They were established in April 1929 by Will and Winnifred Nash. The third generation of the Nash family are still going strong baking breads, confectionery and savouries.
We looked up Nash’s Bakery in the local library. We saw a snippet out of a book produced by Peter Barrington and Michael Morgan showing one of Nash’s Bakery former employees Joan Cherry. Joan worked for Nash’s Bakery for 40 years and retired in June 1990. Here is Joan pictured below.
When you come to Bicester and visit Nash’s Bakery you will be buying from a bakery steeped in heritage and history. We highly recommend you pop in and pay them a visit. We recommend the cream scones and a Cornish pasty.
