Get involved with parkrun every Saturday at Langford Fields
We went along to parkrun on Saturday to take photos of the runners taking part. For those of you who have never heard of parkrun before then let’s give you a short summary of this weekly event.
Parkrun is a national and infact worldwide event that was started in 2004. It was invented by Paul Sinton-Hewitt. Parkrun currently take place in 22 countries on 5 continents. It is an event to help people with their physical health, to help people stay active, and also to provide a number of volunteering roles for people to take part in.
Parkrun can have huge health benefits both physically and mentally. It is something that is prescribed by GPs as exercise can have a huge impact on physical and mental health. People can use parkrun as a springboard to go on and run smaller races, to half marathons and marathons. But the key thing is to get involved and have the opportunity to get fitter and healthier making new positive friends along the way.

If you would like to take part in parkrun, then visit the Bicester parkrun website linked below. From here you will be able to register and print a barcode, this barcode will enable you to get a time every Saturday. The great news is this, it is all run by volunteers and is completely FREE, all you have to do is turn up.
